Gymnast Aly Raisman will compete in her second Olympics in Rio starting on August 7th, and she's ready to go! At the 2012 Olympics, she was incredibly successful, claiming gold medals in the team and floor competitions and bronze on the balance beam. Those wins made Aly the most decorated American gymnast in London, and she's most likely hoping for a repeat this year.
1. She knows her Olympic history. In the floor final routine in 2012, Aly placed first for a routine she performed to the tune of "Hava Nagila." She dedicated her floor routine to the 11 Israeli Olympians who were murdered by Palestinian terrorists at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich.
2. She competed on Dancing With the Stars, as a contestant on the show's 16th season, and finished in fourth place with two-time champion Mark Ballas. (For the record, she was AMAZING.)
Both her parents are athletes. Her mother Lynn was a gymnast in high school and her father Rick played hockey. They became an overnight sensation after their hilarious reactions to Aly during her 2012 bars routine went viral. This is the best video you will ever watch:
